Backgammon

Backgammon..is all about board game that I heard that when you play is challenging but I never play this game but I know that this game was played by many people around the world, because backgammon is one of the oldest board game for the two players.
The game played according to the move of the dice. The objective of this game is to remove all of your own pieces before your opponent can do the same. The board actually has a point on other side of the board forming a shape of a horseshoe. To start a game, each player must roll a dice and the one who has a higher number will be the one to move first. But if the players get the same number in a dice they must repeat it until one of them get a higher number. There are many variants or differentiation in playing a backgammon.
Some are:
Hypergammon, one variant of backgammon, a player have only three pieces on the board.
The Nackgammon, the player starts with few pieces.
The russian backgammon, a player starts with no pieces on the board, in this type of variant, doubles are more powerful.

A basic strategy of the backgammon is to avoid hit, trapped or held by your opponent. For the people who knows a lot about playing a backgammon, just enjoy and take it easy to play because strategic thinking is the best way to win this game.

The Dama

Sometimes, when we  hear the word Dama, we pertain to a lady or a queen specially the foreigners, because Dama for them are ladies, etc. But here in our country, when we talked about Dama, we know that it's all about board game that we used to play when we're having our past time with our friends, we had fun playing this game. But originally, Dama was a famous traditional board game here in the Philippines, this game is played with the use of a wooden board and a bottle caps or stones. In just simple things like that we can now play Dama. Dama are not just played here in the Philippines, even in other countries they play the same board game but they called it as "checkers". But in Philippines and America they called it dama.

How to play Dama:
This game is played by two people, each player must have 12 "pitsas"(pieces in dama) made from bamboo, stones or bottle caps. They move point to point and like the game chess, once your pitsas capture, the game will ends. Pitsas can move diagonally only, they cannot eat or capture backwards.

As time goes by, Dama became damath here in the Philippines. A combination of dama and mathematics, the game is played with mathematical operations and became a popular school activity, and start to have a tournament in Damath.
Today, again it evolves to Sci-damath, accombination of Dama, mathematics and scientific operations. Now, in school activities Sci-damath became difficult because every turns and move, a player must answer or solve a particular operations needed before you win.
But originally,  Dama can't take place by any other games because it's always the best for just a simple game while taking a rest.

Get Ready for..The Game of the Generals

Did you know that The Game of the Generals one of games with all about board game was invented here in the Philippines by Sofronio H. Pasola Jr.?, yes, it’s true, his inspiration was his son. They first played it on a chessboard, although the pieces are not likely as of the chess game, because its character were from the army. First, he invented it with no spies, but after he remembered James Bond he added the pieces to the game.  Unlike in the chess, while you play the GG (Game of the Generals) each of you and your opponent’s pieces were hidden from each other, in other words you can’t see the pieces of your opponent.
The objective of this game is to eliminate or capture the flag of your opponent.

THE CHARACTERS AND THEIR FUNCTION:
The Five-star general, four-star general, Lieutenant General, major general, brigadier general, colonel, Lt. colonel, major, captain, 1st Lieutenant – all this pieces are only one and they all eliminates the private ,the flag and other lower ranking officer .
The 2nd Lieutenant – have only one pieces and it eliminates the sergeant, private and the flag.
The Sergeant - it eliminates the private and the flag.
The Private – it eliminates the spy and the flag, it has 6 pieces.
The Spy – it eliminates all officers ranking sergeant to five – star general and the flag. There are two spies in this game.
The Flag – it eliminates the opposing flag.
Unlike on the chess, the pieces on GG can be placed wherever the advantage of the piece has been there.  Each player can move only one piece per turn. My suggestion, think carefully before putting the piece on its place.
I only know basic in The Game of the Generals so that I can’t give many suggestions and strategic in playing this game.
